The original PhatShaft turbo is the perfect replacement turbo for towing. The PhatShaft can be purchased with a 12 or 14 turbine housing matched with a 65mm turbine. We suggest a 12 cm turbine housing if the truck is a 12 Valve and has moderate fueling upgrades such as 300hp injectors and a camplate. If the truck has heavier fueling upgrades such as aggressive fueling electronics, large injectors, aggressive camplate and high rev governor springs then you will be better suited with 14cm housing. The benefit of the 14cm exhaust housing is lower Exhaust Gas Temperatures however, response will be slower in daily driving situations. The original PhatShaft is available in three different compressor sizes, 62mm, 64mm and 66mm. All three compressors have extended tip technology. The wategate is set at 40psi to prevent head gasket failure on the PhatShaft 62 and 45psi on the PhatShaft 64 and 66. All PhatShaft turbochargers are equipped with dual grooved bearings and an adjustable boost elbow. The original PhatShaft compliments moderate fueling upgrades and can support 300 – 550hp on 5.9 Dodge Cummins.

The benefit of the 14cm over the 12cm exhaust housing is lower Exhaust Gas Temperatures but it will be slower to spool in daily driving situations. The wategate is set at 40psi to prevent head gasket failure. The PhatShaft 62 compliments moderate fueling upgrades and can support 300 – 550hp. The 62 is very close to being a drop in replacement however, a HX40 downpipe is required for installation (HX40DP2).

The PhatShaft 64 is mid range replacement turbo for towing. The PhatShaft can be purchased with a 12cm or 14cm turbine housing although we suggest sticking with the 14cm exhaust housing. The benefit of the 14cm exhaust housing is lower Exhaust Gas Temperatures, however, it will be slower to spool in daily driving situations. The original PhatShaft 64 features a 64mm compressor with extended tip technology. The wategate is set at 45psi. All PhatShaft turbochargers are equipped with dual grooved bearings and a adjustable boost elbow. The original PhatShaft turbo compliments moderate fueling upgrades and can support 300 – 550hp.

PhatShaft 66 is a mid to high range replacement turbo intended for performance and light towing. The PhatShaft 66 comes standard with a 14cm exhaust housing and can be special ordered with a 12cm housing. This industrial injection turbo features a 65mm turbine. The wategate is set at 45psi and can be adjusted with the adjustable boost elbow. All PhatShaft turbochargers are equipped with dual grooved bearings. The original PhatShaft 66 compliments mid to high range fueling upgrades and can support 350 – 600hp.
